After replacing the battery on Wednesday, I drove the Miata for the first time in about 3 months yesterday.

Kinja'd!!!

Took it to the car wash and hosed all the dust off. This car really does clean up well.

New Bridgestone Potenza RE71Rs go on today ( after I finish teaching 2nd graders “economics” again).

I also replaced the battery in my Miata on Wednesday and drove it for the first time since late October. New Flyin Miata sway bars and end links on it now, too!

Nice!

Yeah, my battery was date coded 12/09 so it definitely needed to be replaced. The car had a set of used RE71Rs on it when I bought it that I ran last season on, so I’m interested to see what a fresh set feels like.

Did you buy a sealed battery like Optima.  I bought a AGM battery from Advanced for my NB and used the vent tubes which may have lead to some rust underneath what was otherwise a rust free CA car (per the new owner).
